The year is 1900. Is there any finer protector of the public than the New York City Fire Department? These brave fire fighters were the first responders at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 – and they gave all. Today’s fire department upholds the same ideals as they did 114 years ago, when this photograph was taken. Most likely, this fire engine dates from the 1890s and was still seeing action n the year 1900.

In full-color the firemen spring into action with steam engine billowing! You can thrill at the sight of their horse-drawn carriage, as it races to the fire!

At American Photo Colorizing, our goal is to shred the black & white veil that separates us from the exciting, vibrant lives of those who came before us. It’s time to “Go Color” with your vintage and antique family photos. Your ancestors are counting on you!
