The year is 1944. Gasoline was 20 cents per gallon. Today, it’s 20 times that. During the war years of the 1940s, when Gas-Power didn’t get you there, due to rationing – there was always “Teen-Power”.

The year is 1914. You can almost smell the exhaust and smoke in the air in this image of an American auto race of 100 years ago. As always, a little color makes all the difference. So, if you don’t want to whiff the fumes – just focus on the black & white image.

BEACH BABIES (1930)

Welcome to American Photo Colorizing .com’s photo blog.
The year is 1930. The place: Highland Beach, Maryland. I’m trying to fit in some beach images from the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, by Labor Day. I love this 1930 photograph. I love the girls in their old-time swim suits. But most of all – I love the . . . no, I absolutely LOVE the awesomely cool convertible that got them there. Ohhh, the cruisin’ I would’ve done as a teenager in this majestic tin can! Mmmm-mmmmmm!!

The year is 2003. Here’s I’ve taken a current photo – and “regressed” it about 75 years. I came across this crazy custom car on the streets of Edmonds, Washington on Halloween afternoon, 2003. It’s cool in color – and it’s retro-cool in sepiatone. When you’ve “got it – you’ve got it!” . . . and this classic car has GOT IT IN SPADES!

The year is 1922. Wanna buy a car – slightly used? This photo was taken in Washington, DC during the Roaring ’20s. Well, it would appear this car’s “roaring” days are over.
